Ted Bundy

Ted Bundy is one of the most infamous serial killers of America. He was known for his charismatic personality and his ability to get away with his crimes for so long. This of course devalues his victims and their lives due to his fame. Many people during that time, especially those who knew Bundy, couldn't believe he was capable of such crimes. He portrayed this smart, perfect gentlemen to his peers and family. His mother to this day still stands by him despite the hard evidence against him. His charming personality and disbelief is what makes us so interested in him I think. The idea that someone can have two juxtaposing personalities baffles us, especially when it comes to murder. Bundy committed the most horrific crimes such as rape, necrophilia, and dismemberment, yet so many loved him. He was the most average looking white male, yet this duality is what attracted many young women. He was a famous charming man who they believed didn't commit his crimes. Even if they did believe he did, they liked the idea of attention from a 'bad boy'. This attraction goes for many serial killers who's received love letters and marriage proposals, however, I think Ted Bundy is the most well known for this.
